Defying Roughness 101 - Lips

Hey Hey my little Beauty Munchkins!

As we are getting closer to the Winter it is now more important than ever to protect your skin from dryness and the cold, windy and rough weather. That’s why I decided to make a series on what you can do to keep your skin soft and moisturized.

I want to start with a post on lip products – very unusual for me – because my lips are super sensitive for coldness and they start to get chapped and dry before my hands or skin do.

I’m always looking for new products to protect my lips. Unfortunately my lips are not able to handle Labello chap sticks. After using them, my lips are worse than before. They dry out super fast and feel tight all the time. My lips are not reacting to all Labellos like this though, they love the Vitamin Shake series :)
So I was super suspicious when I saw the new lip butters from Labello came out, because i thought they might not work for my weird lips either.
You may know them from the brand Nivea. They are the same thing, but for some reason they have a different name in Germany and Austria than in other European countries or the USA.
Anyway, I heard a lot of good things about these butters and as it turns out: it definitely lives up to its hype. It is so creamy and buttery, smells and feels amazing and leaves my lips super soft and feeling healthy.
They have a couple of different sorts: Vanilla & Macadamia, Raspberry Rosé, Caramel Cream and Original.
I chose Vanilla & Macadamia and I totally love the smell! I will definitely repurchase this product when it’s empty and I will probably buy all the other flavors too :D

The second product that was supposed to help my dry lips are the Maybelline Baby Lips.
Again they are supposed to be moisturizing and nurturing for your lips – emphasizing the phrase “supposed to”. It did the same thing for me as the Labello chap sticks and it bugs me that it does, because I love the smell and feeling, the slight red tint it has and the design is cute too and I would love to have all of the different kinds available in Austria (Hydrate, Intense Care, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss) but that just doesn’t make sense when I will probably not even use up my Cherry Me one.
Don't get me wrong, they are super moisturizing and I love how they feel on my lips, when I freshly apply them and I would love for them to work for me as they do for others, but unfortunately they don't :(

What do you use to keep your lips soft and hydrated?

I would love it if you click the "follow" button on the right side :)

A new post will be up soon! Until then..
.. stay tuned and have a fantastic day (or night)

hugs
Trish :)
