Hey Hey my little Beauty Munchkins!
Last year I decided to jump on the subscription-box-train and ordered Glossybox. It was always a lot more worth than I paid, so that was a good thing. But this is where the good things end. I never had more than one thing in each box that I really liked. And for my taste there were way too many face creams and serums in it. I always had the feeling that they don’t really care about your beauty profile, so why even bother making one?!
After 6 month of trial and a lot of error I decided to stop the subscription.
So in these 6 boxes were only three things that I really love, already repurchased or will definitely repurchase.
Figs&Rouge Lip, Face and Body Balm 100% Organic – Peppermint&Tea Tree
This product was in my July 2012 box. It was original size and the price is € 4,-.
On the description it says that it nurtures not only lips, but also small dry spots on your skin – and that is exactly what it does. I never had a balm that was more moisturizing for my lips. I tend to get really dry lips in the night. So I put something on before I go to sleep and my lips are super soft in the morning – that’s why it’s always on my night stand. I also tried it once on dry spots on my nose after I was sick and they disappeared really quickly.
I will definitely repurchase this little helper! :)
Schwarzkopf Professional – BC Oil Miracle
This was in my first Glossybox ever, in March 2012. They just send a little 5ml sample. So I knew I could only try it once on my long, thick hair. My first thought was I’m gonna try it and will probably don’t see any result from that small amount. But I was really surprised by this product. In fact I was so much in love with it from the beginning that I’ve already repurchased it twice.
I apply just a little bit on my towel-dried hair and comb trough. Then style as usual. It makes my hair-ends super smooth and shiny. Because it is kind of expensive, at least for my taste (you get 100ml for € 22,60), I only use it on special occasions :)
Sans Soucis Firming Mask – One Apple A Day
I found this little apple-smelling-heaven in my forth Glossybox, in June 2012. Now this is a sample size I really appreciate! 40ml is something you can work with and really try out a product (Original size: 75ml for € 25,-).
You apply it on your cleansed skin and let it take effect for at least 10 minutes then take it off with a face cleaning tissue.
I just like the smell (although it could be a little less chemical) and I really love the way my skin feels after I put it on my face.
I don’t know if I will repurchase again. I think that’s something that I will decide once it’s empty.
Well, at least not everything was that bad. You just have to always find the good things in the bad ;)
Have you ever had a subscription box or do you still have one?!
What do you think of it?!
Have you ever experienced such disappointment in these boxes as I have?!
I haven't gotten a subscription service (although we have many more here in the US) because of the same reason. I'm so picky that I know I would maybe only like 1-2 products. I hear the Douglas box is pretty popular though.
ReplyDeleteIf there was a service where I could pick my own products, I would go for it though.
You have a subscription service in the US that I really would love to try! www.littleblackbag.com!! I hope they do international shipping soon or else I have to do it when I visit you again :)
DeleteYou have to check it out! I think this is exactly what you're looking for ;)
