a little bit of Christmas and a special kick-off ;)

Hey Hey my little Beauty Munchkins!

First of all: how are you doing my loves?
I hope you all are fine and have a wonderful time so far and are as excited for Christmas as I am.
Usually I do not look forward to Christmas this much, because there is always something bad happening around this time in my family, but this year I am more than just excited because it means I go home and I have not seen my parents or brothers or any other family member for over 4 month now. I am WAY too busy :(

So to kick of my festive mood, I thought I will decorate my room a little bit. Normally I’m not a huge fan of decorating my space for any holiday season but this time it is combined with something practical, which is more my style :D

This summer I moved to a new place. It is a very old house with box-type windows – which I LOVE. Unfortunately these double windows are not as airtight as new windows, there is always a draft. To minimize that, most people put an elongated pillow between the two windows. I kind of did that too…

Since my whole room has a dark blue theme I went for blue, silver and white.
I went to my nearest furniture store (which is actually right next to my house) and got some things.

First thing I got was a set of a snuggly blanket and a pillow in dark blue. Something I can still use even when I put the decoration away. I did not need the pillow for the arrangement in my window though. It now has a safe place on my bed with my other 12 pillows :D

I saw a beautiful silver white sparkling star and I just had to have it. Isn’t it just gorgeous?
Right next to it was this silver sparkling lantern with a heart on it. I mean, does anything else scream more TrishHearts tan this? ;)
Of course I had to get some ornaments for a proper Christmas decoration. I found these three in a clearance box for only 10cents a piece. Oh glitter glitter glitter :)

What is a Christmas decoration without a Christmas tree – nothing. That’s why I simply fell in love with this hard plastic almost glass like tree the moment I saw it. It is actually a illuminated tree, but I don’t like how it changes from color too color, I like It better with no lights on.

After putting it all together I sprinkled some fake snow over it and voilĂ , this is the finished result:

There is one more thing that I didn’t plan on but I got a cute Christmas card and it goes perfect with my poinsettia. Thanks to Roland for sending me it :)

I know it is not much and a lot of people wouldn’t even call this “decoration” but for me it is the perfect little hint of Christmas I needed.

With this post I officially kick of my two week countdown to the Christmas holidays, where there will be a post every day until the 25th of December – ending with a “What I got myself for Christmas” post.
